the estilo drive - A review of new Estilo

The first impression of any car is made by most of us on its looks and I have good reasons to believe that one of the reasons the old Zen Estilo flopped is because of its very boxy and ordinary looks. And the new Estilo is great improvement on this front. The sculpted fog lamps goes very easy on the eye and the dynamic head lamps is real improvement on the old one. The front grill is a bit similar to the ones we have seen on the Ritz. It comes in 8 vibrant shades and I should say the 'Dusky Brown' and the 'Superior white' are the real head turners.
Coming to the drive comfort, the new Estilo has made a few further improvements. The new gear shift technology, Detent Pin Technology(DPT) makes the gear shifting very smooth. The new K-series engines gives it much improved pick-up and fuel economy. The 68Ps@6200 rpm for 993 cc vehicle is quite decent. The ARAI certified 18.2 kmpl will become a huge factor in pulling the masses towards this car.

The few things which does not go for the car are the very ordinary interiors. The chocolate and beige dashboard for the LXi and Vxi version is horrible to say the least. The spacious boot has eaten into leg room for the rear passengers. Also, it might be quite difficult to distinguish between the new Estilo from a Wagon R from the inside.

The car comes in 3 variants the LX which costs 3.8L on road in Bangalore, the LXi which will cost you another 30K more and the Vxi version costs 4.36L for the one without the ABS and 4.7L for the version with ABS. Also please note that all prices are inclusive of extended warranty.
